2020 Mazda CX-30: Top Safety Pick Award | Edinburg, TX
The newest vehicle to join the lineup of Mazda vehicles is the 2020 Mazda CX-30 SUV. Already, the Mazda CX-30 is making a name for itself in the segment in terms of safety, having earned the 2020 Top Safety Pick distinction (when equipped with proper headlights) from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
To earn this award, the CX-30 had to achieve “good” ratings (the highest doled out by the IIHS) across six crashworthiness evaluations. The crash tests are divided by head restraint, roof strength, side, moderate overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, and driver-side small overlap front. In addition, the SUV had to achieve an “advanced” or “superior” rating in vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian crash prevention tests and take home an “acceptable” or “good” rating for headlights.
The new Mazda CX-30 is available with a range of driver-assist safety technologies as part of the i-ACTIVSENSE® suite of safety features. Included in this collection are Advanced Smart City Brake Support with Pedestrian Detection, an Adaptive Front-Lighting System, the Lane Departure Warning System with Lane-keep Assist, Smart Brake Support with Collision Warning, Smart Brake Support, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Driver Attention Alert, High Beam Control, and Traffic Sign Recognition.
“Safety is a top priority with Mazda, and we are proud to have the CX-30 earn the 2020 IIHS Top Safety Pick award,” remarked Mazda North American Operations President Jeff Guyton. “We are committed to providing the most advanced safety technologies in our vehicles, and we continue to challenge ourselves to create unique products and technologies, which provide our customers a confident, relaxing, joyful driving experience.”
