Under the hood of Mazda’s latest entry to the segment is a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine attached to a six-speed automatic transmission. This means that the 2019 Mazda3 Hatchback will produce 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. The 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback employs a turbocharged 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine which will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission depending on which trim a customer chooses.
