Real estate is a popular field in Edinburg, but it’s not just real estate agents who need nice cars to impress clients. Given the rise of the gig economy and passionate new generations, we have plenty of customers in the area who are going into business for themselves and need a vehicle that is reliable and stylish enough to succeed. For these ambitious self-starters, we recommend the Mazda3 Hatchback, the Mazda CX-5 or the Mazda CX-9. These are all great investments for self-starters because of their low starting prices, fuel economy ratings, their range of modern conveniences, and advanced safety features. The Mazda CX-9, for example, boasts available predictive i-ACTIV AWD®, available i-ACTIVSENSE® safety features (like Pre-Collision Safety Technology), and smartphone integration via Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®.
Bert Ogden Mazda often sees teachers in the market for something reliable enough to get them to and from school every day, safe enough for transporting students to games and on field trips, and large enough for their own families outside of school. For teachers, the Mazda CX-3, Mazda CX-5, and Mazda6 all earn an A+. The Mazda CX-3 subcompact crossover is great for teachers because of its low entry price and incredible fuel economy (34 miles per gallon on the highway).1 The Mazda6 is an elegant sedan and incredibly reliable thanks to its SKYACTIV®-G 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and intricate design. Of special note are the seats, which are designed to reduce fatigue — something every teacher will likely appreciate.
Edinburg is home to many hard-working nurses who treat patients with dedication and passion. Our nurse customers typically come from one of two groups. First are the home nurses, who spend their days traveling from patient to patient, meaning they are looking for something efficient yet spacious enough to store their equipment. Hospital nurses, on the other hand, prioritize something compact and practical, especially for the tight parking garages at the hospital. Most nurses have their own families at home and want something with great safety features and that prioritizes comfort. For their compact size, we recommend the Mazda3 sedan or hatchback, which get up to 35 mpg on the highway.2 The Mazda CX-5 is also great for nurses, offering up to 59.6 cubic feet of cargo space and convenient features like smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.
Being so closely located to great hiking and biking trails, camping spots, and fishing and boating opportunities off South Padre Island, we have a lot of weekend adventurers in our area—drivers who like to get out and experience the outdoors and need a capable vehicle to join them. Whether drivers want to tow a boat or trailer to the gulf or just fit BBQ and camping equipment in the back of the crossover, Mazda has everything covered with the CX-3, CX-5, or CX-9. The CX-3 is perfect for solo or couple travelers, thanks to its flexible cargo area and great fuel economy. The Mazda CX-9, however, is ideal for families, especially families who want to tow a boat to spend a weekend at gulf. When properly equipped, the Mazda CX-3 can tow up to 1,038 pounds; the Mazda CX-5 can tow up to 2,000 pounds, and the Mazda CX-9 can tow up to 3,500 pounds. The CX-9 is great in all terrains, especially when enabled by available predictive ACTIV AWD for increased traction no matter the weather.
Drive to Impress
The salespeople, doctors, and lawyers of our community are typically looking for a vehicle that conveys success. Often, they need a vehicle that impresses potential clients or investors—or they just want a vehicle to reward themselves with for their hard work. For them, we recommend the Mazda6, CX-5, or CX-9. The elegant Mazda6 sedan is a true study in sophisticated design and power. The available Dynamic Pressure Turbocharged Skyactiv®-G 2.5T engine cranks out up to 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The interior of the Mazda6 is available with Ultrasuede® trim and ventilated front seats, as well as a Bose® 11-speaker audio system. The infotainment system boasts available Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ integration. Most importantly, the Mazda6 boasts a wide range of standard safety technologies, including High Beam Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, the Lane Departure Warning System, Lane-Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Advanced Smart City Brake Support, Smart Brake Support, and Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go. The CX-5 and CX-9 are similarly stylish and well-appointed and offer drivers the convenience of versatile interiors and advanced towing, especially the CX-9, which can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
The Edinburg area is famous for our abundance of large families. We have a remarkable number of families in the area who have more than five kids, and so many others with multigenerational households, meaning three (or more!) generations living under one roof. Families of this size have varying needs as they juggle work, school, sports, doctor’s appointments, road trips, grocery store visits, sleepovers, and more. A reliable vehicle with plenty of interior space and kid-friendly features, not to mention advanced safety features, is ideal. We recommend a Mazda SUV: the CX-3, CX-5, or CX-9. The Mazda CX-3 is our compact crossover, comfortably seating five and boasting up to 44.5 cubic feet of cargo space. Maximum comfort comes when families spring for available leather-trimmed sport seats and the available Bose® 7-speaker surround sound system. The larger CX-5 is more powerful and spacious (up to 59.6 cubic feet of cargo area), but is still highly efficient at 27 mpg on the highway, ideal for families on a tight budget.3 But Mazda’s largest SUV is the three-row CX-9 with up to 71.2 cubic feet of space. Available safety features run the gamut, from Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go to Smart Brake Support with Collision Warning. Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert come standard.
Border Patrol and Law Enforcement
Our community owes its continued safety to the hard work of our border patrol agents and law enforcement officers. These dedicated civil servants put their lives on the line each day to keep us safe. While they rely on work-provided vehicles while on the job, they still need their own reliable modes of transportation for getting to work, taking their families to school and the grocery store and doctor’s appointments, and heading out on the weekends with their boats or trailers to enjoy the great outdoors, like the beautiful Gulf Coast on South Padre Island. We recommend the Mazda3 Hatchback, Mazda CX-3 or Mazda CX-5.
